On October 29, the 80th China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF Autumn 2018) was unveiled at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. The Fair attracted over 3,000 medical device enterprises from more than ten countries worldwide. It was an exhibition of scientific and technological achievements of medical devices. The inauguration ceremony of Neonatal Medicine Branch of China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI) was held at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Nearly 70 neonatologists and company representatives from all over the country attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Zhang Lin, deputy secretary general of CAMDI.
Mr. Zhao Yixin, president of CAMDI, delivered an opening speech at the ceremony.
Mr. Feng Zhichun, president of BAYI Children’s Hospital, General Hospital of PLA was voted the honorary president of the Branch, and Mr. Wu Benqing, vice president of Shenzhen Hospital, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences was voted the president. COMEN was voted the standing vice president unit. PerkinElmer Healthcare Diagnostics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Ningbo David Medical Device Co., Ltd., GE Medical Systems Trade & Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions Co. Ltd. were voted the vice president units. Mr. Chen Chao, director of Neonatology Department, Children’s Hospital of Fudan University, Mr. Cheng Xiuyong, director of Neonatology Department, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, Mr. Li Qiuping, director of Neonatology Department for Extreme Prematurity, BAYI Children’s Hospital, General Hospital of PLA and Mr. Li Zhankui, director of Neonatology Department, Northwest Women and Children's Hospital were voted the vice presidents.
Mr. Zhao Yixin, President of CAMDI, Ms. Xu Shan, secretary general of CAMDI, Mr. Feng Zhichun, honorary president of Neonatal Medicine Branch of CAMDI and Mr. Wu Benqing, president of the Branch awarded certificates to the members of the first council.
Mr. Feng Zhichun sighed that China had been relied much on import regarding the neonatal medical device products, until 2010, with the rise of COMEN, Mindray and other companies, we managed to have well-developed and independently researched, developed and manufactured monitors and other neonatal monitoring products. Neonatology cannot grow without advanced medical equipment. Upon establishment of the Neonatal Medicine Branch, doctors and physicians, and companies may have a platform for communication to develop the medical device industry in the neonatology sector.
